NORCE, Montimage and SINTEF, partners in the COGNIMAN project, are thrilled to be invited as speakers to the ‘Unlocking productivity gains in manufacturing’ virtual workshop that aims to delve into the intersection of generative AI and manufacturing. Hosted by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HADEA), which is also the funding agency of COGNIMAN, this workshop seeks to gather insights from industry stakeholders to better understand the potential of generative AI models within manufacturing processes.

Date: 4 June 2024
Time: 9:00 to 13:00

The workshop has a dual objective: to gather feedback from industry experts and identify long-term challenges in integrating generative AI models into manufacturing. By bringing together a diverse group of experts, the aim is to explore the opportunities presented by generative AI and other AI-related technologies. Additionally, they also aim to assess the readiness of existing solutions developed through European R&I programs, identifying support needs and potential barriers to adoption.

The virtual workshop will feature breakout sessions where participants will engage in discussions on various aspects of generative AI in manufacturing. Key questions that will be explored include:

  • How are different AI models currently being used in manufacturing?
  • What opportunities does generative AI offer for the industry?
  • How do these technologies align with industry needs?
  • What support is needed for the development and adoption of these tools?

NORCE leads the administrative, scientific and technical coordination of COGNIMAN. In addition to contributing to all pilots in advanced sensing, AI and collaborative robotics, NORCE supports the definition of the system architecture and the toolbox and plays an active role in the selection process of the Ethics Board of COGNIMAN.

Montimage serves as the primary technology provider that will work on building the digital twin with sensing and AI capabilities to support the development of the solutions for the use cases of COGNIMAN.

SINTEF leads the tasks related to introducing and adapting sensors for manufacturing processes, collecting data sets and using them to develop digital twin models. These would be used to simulate and provide required solutions to tackle the challenges of the COGNIMAN use cases.
